Creosote removed from the full flue, smoke chamber and firebox under sealed HEPA containment. Your living room looks untouched when we leave.
Texas fireplaces burn a lot of dry firewood through the cooler months. It lights fast and throws heat, and it also deposits creosote on the flue walls quickly. Past about an eighth of an inch, that deposit is fuel sitting inside your house, and a hot fire in an unswept flue is how chimney fires start.
A Pure Chimney Sweep cleaning covers the whole system, not just the easy part: flue, smoke chamber, smoke shelf, damper and firebox. We finish with a draft check so you know the chimney is drawing the way it should before the first cold night.

A sweep that only brushes the flue leaves the two places soot actually causes problems. Here is what a full cleaning visit covers.

Brushed the full height down to bare liner, with the debris contained and removed from the property.

Ash, soot and debris removed from the firebox, and the hearth and surround wiped down.

The damper freed and cleaned and the smoke shelf cleared — where soot and nesting debris collect.

Nests, leaves and animal debris pulled out, with capping recommended so it does not come back.

Grates, logs and glass doors cleaned so the hearth looks maintained, not just functional.
Drop cloths over the hearth and floor, and the fireplace opening sealed before any brush moves.
A HEPA vacuum runs under negative pressure for the entire visit, so soot goes into the machine rather than the room.
Flue, smoke chamber and firebox swept, then the Level 1 inspection and camera scan with photos of anything we flag.
Containment removed, floor checked, and everything we pulled out loaded into the truck before we go.
Once a heating season for a fireplace in regular use. Dry firewood deposits creosote quickly, so homes burning several nights a week sometimes need attention sooner. If you only burn a few times a year, an annual inspection with cleaning as needed is usually enough.
It should not. We seal the fireplace opening, run a HEPA vacuum under negative pressure throughout the visit, and lay drop cloths across the hearth and floor. If the room is not as clean as we found it, tell us before we leave.
Plan on about two hours for a standard sweep and Level 1 inspection on a single fireplace. Heavy creosote, glazed deposits or a blocked flue can add time, and we will tell you before starting if we expect that.
In practice they describe the same service. "Sweeping" traditionally refers to the flue itself, while "cleaning" is often used for the whole system including the firebox. Our visit covers both, so the terminology does not change what gets done.
We schedule cleanings by area so every neighborhood can be reached efficiently, and the fall route fills quickly after the first cold snap. We cover Dallas, Garland, Plano, Richardson, Irving, Frisco, Carrollton, Addison, McKinney, Mesquite and the surrounding DFW communities.
